Who We Are
Committed to Sustainability and Community Growth
Founded in 2000, Henque Waste has grown from a small recycling initiative into a leading waste management company. With a strong focus on environmental responsibility, ethical business practices, and community empowerment, we strive to create lasting change.
From training waste sorters to supporting waste collectors and operating buy-back centers, our efforts extend beyond waste management – we are fostering economic opportunities and sustainability. Our team consists of 158 permanent employees, 142 contract workers, and over 700 waste pickers earning a living through our buy-back centers.
Our Mission
Henque Waste began with one woman’s determination to make a difference. Founding member, Charlotta Lamprecht started by collecting discarded boxes in Riversdale, building a business rooted in sustainability. Today, we process over a thousand tonnes of recyclable material monthly across multiple branches.
Our Goals

Develop innovative and sustainable waste management solutions to protect the environment and benefit future generations.
